Our one day Dyslexia awareness course explores the signs, symptoms, behaviours and impact of dyslexia for learners. It helps you to increase your knowledge, confidence and skills to embed effective practice into the support you provide.

We will look at the condition and how you may adapt your communication, teaching strategies and environment to enable your learners to achieve their full potential.

You will gain the knowledge and confidence to:

  • Understand dyslexia and related conditions, and how they can impact individuals
  • Describe the strengths of dyslexic learners and how to make the most of them in learning situations
  • Outline and understand the difficulties experienced by dyslexic learners
  • Make adjustments to teaching/training methods, resources and environments
  • Consider the emotional and social effects
  • Recognise the benefits of technology and support services
  • Support individuals during progression and transition.

  • Practitioners and managers from the Further Education sector
  • Individuals working with young people transitioning from education into work.

Cost:

Each full day course is £100 including VAT per delegate for providers that receive funding from the ESFA.
For providers not receiving funding the full cost is £150.
